Forged Aluminum Fork Axle Holder (6082, Large): 0.87 kg Heavy-Duty Axle Seat
This large 6082 forged aluminum fork axle holder is a bigger front axle seat that integrates a large-diameter axle seat, an outer-tube socket, a reinforcing web and multiple extended arms, for higher-load front forks on large-displacement motorcycles and off-road vehicles. It is made of 6082 aluminum with a published weight of 0.87 kg.
6082 is a 6xxx alloy combining strength and corrosion resistance and is widely used for vehicle structures under higher loads. Al Forge Tech (AFT) closed-die hot forges the large axle seat and reinforcing web with grain flow continuous along each arm, applies in-house T6 heat treatment, machines the axle bore, tube socket and mounting holes on 4.5-axis CNC, and inspects with CMM and fluorescent penetrant.
Key Features
- 6082 aluminum, 0.87 kg (published specification)
- Large axle seat and reinforcing web forged in one piece
- For high-load forks on large-displacement models
- 4.5-axis CNC, CMM measurement and fluorescent penetrant inspection

Forged Aluminum Fork Axle Holder (6082, Large) Manufacturing Process
- Drawing review and DFM: we confirm alloy, load direction and critical dimensions, then run QForm simulation to predict metal flow and defect risk.
- Die design and manufacturing: the number of die sets (for example, blocker and finisher dies) is planned around part complexity, and die contours are checked with a portable 3D scanner.
- Hot forging: closed-die forming on 600T–8,000T hot forging presses creates a continuous grain flow that follows the part contour.
- Heat treatment: T4 solution treatment and T6 artificial aging are performed in-house, with parameters set by alloy and strength requirement.
- CNC machining and finishing: holes, threads and mating surfaces are machined, followed by deburring, vibratory finishing, shot blasting or anodizing as required.
- Inspection and shipment: dimensions, hardness and chemical composition are verified with CMM, hardness testers and a spectrometer, with lot traceability kept under IATF 16949.
FAQ
Which vehicle parts suit 6082 aluminum?
6082 is a heat-treatable 6xxx alloy whose T6 strength is among the highest in the series while retaining good corrosion resistance and machinability. It is common in vehicle structures under higher load, such as suspension, chassis and fork parts. This large axle holder from AFT uses 6082 with a published weight of 0.87 kg.
How is the tube socket fit to the fork outer tube ensured?
The socket joins the fork outer tube by press-fit or clamping, so its diameter and roundness affect joint strength and fork alignment. After T6 heat treatment, AFT finish-machines the socket from the same datum as the axle bore, then measures diameter, roundness and the relative position of both bores on Zeiss CMM.
How do you keep the Forged Aluminum Fork Axle Holder (6082, Large) consistent from lot to lot?
Al Forge Tech runs incoming (IQC), in-process (IPQC) and final (FQC) inspection under IATF 16949:2016, supported by 4 Zeiss CMMs, hardness testers, a spectrometer and a fluorescent penetrant inspection line. First, middle and last pieces of every lot are checked against the die; when wear causes dimensional drift, the die is reworked to keep the Forged Aluminum Fork Axle Holder (6082, Large) stable across lots.
Can Al Forge Tech supply the Forged Aluminum Fork Axle Holder (6082, Large) from forging through machining?
Yes. Forging, heat treatment, CNC machining, surface finishing and inspection are integrated in one facility: 52 CNC machining centers (40 four-axis and 12 4.5-axis), 30 lathes (14 with robotic loading), plus broaching, burnishing and centerless grinding. The Forged Aluminum Fork Axle Holder (6082, Large) can be delivered as a forged blank, semi-finished or fully machined part.
What information do you need to quote the Forged Aluminum Fork Axle Holder (6082, Large)?
Please send a 3D model and 2D drawing, alloy grade and temper, critical tolerances, surface finish requirements, estimated annual volume and target delivery date. Complete data lets our engineers judge forging feasibility, the number of die sets and the machining scope for the Forged Aluminum Fork Axle Holder (6082, Large) at the quotation stage. If the design is still conceptual, a sketch is enough to start a DFM discussion.
